WEDNESDAY: DID YOU KNOW?

Wednesday: Did You Know?

On Wednesdays we share menstrual health tips: simple, practical, and stigma-free pieces of advice or info.

Examples:

  • Did you know? Menstrual pain that stops you from school/work isn’t something you “just have to live with.” Talk to a health professional if pain is severe or suddenly worse.
  • Did you know? Changing your menstrual product regularly helps reduce irritation and odour. Odour usually comes from bacteria, not blood.
  • Did you know? A period can be irregular in the first years after menarche—and also around perimenopause. Tracking helps you spot what’s normal for you.
  • Did you know? It’s normal for your flow to change from day to day. Heavier days often happen early in the cycle.
  • Did you know? Hydration and iron-rich foods, such as beans, leafy greens, fish/meat, can help if you feel tired during your period.
  • Did you know? Hand hygiene matters before and after changing menstrual products—clean hands reduce the risk of infections.
  • Did you know? Period blood should not be “dirty” or shameful—menstruation is a healthy body function.
